Working with Photographs

Images can be added to your website but they will give your visitors a better experience if they are correctly optimised before you add them! This session covers the best practices of taking photos when using mobile or other camera devices and also introduces the use of a fabulous, free 3rd party application which runs on PCs and Macs and helps you to resize high resolution photos to work best on your website!

Note, we DON'T cover adding images to the site in this course!! If you want to learn how to add optimised images to your website, sit in on our "Adding Images to Articles" sessions.

 The session relies on the use of an application called Assetizr which you must install on your PC before you join. Once installed, you will learn how to set the application up for use (a one-time setting) and then you'll be shown:

• How to take pictures in the right way for use on websites and galleries
• How to choose pictures and bring them into Assetizr
• How well the application optimises the pictures to make them smaller for the web
• Where to find the optimised pictures

Note on Session Joining: The ZOOM session URL will be emailed to you a few days before the session date. When you join the ZOOM session, you will enter the Waiting Room and will see our logo until the session starts.

The session is only open to schools where an active support agreement is in place.
