Managing Menus

This session, intended for intermediate users, will introduce to the concepts of website menu management. All sites have menus and these are at the heart of navigation for your website. Without menus, visitors will never find your pages! It is helpful therefore to understand how to create new menu items for new pages as you add them, as well as how to hide/remove menu items that are no longer needed and also how to move menu items around.

In this session you will learn:

  • Where to go to work with menu items
  • How the menus are structured and understanding parent/child menu item relationships
  • The different menu types you could create, but focusing on the common ones
  • How to create a new menu items
  • How to cheat and create menus and their pages in a quick way
  • How to dictate where mennu items will appear
  • Publishing and Unpublishing menu items to hide them
  • Hiding published menu items for pseudo-secrecy
  • To many menu items?
  • Editing existing menu items

We will also cover how to create an Article and assign it to a menu without using the Menu Manager

 

Note on Session Joining: The ZOOM session URL will be emailed to you a few days before the session date. When you join the ZOOM session, you will enter the Waiting Room and will see our logo until the session starts.

The session is only open to schools where an active support agreement is in place.
